1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that visited websites save on the user's device. They allow pages to function efficiently, remember preferences and collect usage information. Similar functions can be performed by similar technologies (web storage, fingerprinting, pixels).
Cookies can be installed directly by the visited website (first-party cookies) or by different domains (third-party cookies).
2. Types of cookies used
Technical cookies (always active, no consent required): ensure correct website functioning, browsing security and storage of language preferences. They include the session cookie and the language selection cookie (it/en).
Cloudflare cookies: used for DDoS protection and bot verification. Technical identifiers with session duration, non-profiling.
Vercel cookies: technical cookies set by the hosting platform for request routing.
JimTime does NOT currently use profiling cookies or third-party analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) on the public site. If introduced in the future, explicit consent will be requested through a banner.
3. Cookie duration
Session cookies: expire when the browser is closed.
Persistent cookies: have a maximum duration of 12 months and are renewed on each visit.
Users can delete cookies at any time from their browser settings.
4. How to disable cookies
You can manage cookie preferences directly from your browser settings:
Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies.
Disabling technical cookies may impair the correct functioning of the site.
5. Extra-EU data transfer
Some service providers that set cookies (Cloudflare, Vercel) are based in the United States. Data transfers are performed in compliance with the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, pursuant to articles 44 et seq. of the GDPR.
6. Data subject rights
For more information on personal data rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability), please refer to the full Privacy Policy, 'Data subject rights' section.
